The Pegões Terroir is located between two Nature Reserves – the Tagus estuary to the Northwest and the Sado on the Southwest, on the east side of the Arrabida hills and on the west side of the Alentejo´s province clays. Nowadays, Pegões is a modern and competitive winery recognized both in the domestic and international markets. The red varities are mostly Castelao (Periquita) and Touriga Nacional. They also produce fine Aragonez and Cabernet Sauvignon amongst others. As for the whites, the majority is Fernao Pires and Muscat but it’s possible to find Tamarez, Arinto, Antao Vaz, and Chardonnay in the vineyards as well.
