Roquevale owns 2 estates, both nearby Redondo, with a total vineyard area of 135 hectares:The Monte Branco estate, with soil of granitic origin, is dedicated to white grape varieties, while the Madeira Nova de Cima estate, with red schist soil is reserved for red grape varieties. 80% of the area is dedicated to red grape varieties, namely Aragonez, Trincadeira, Alfrocheiro, Castelao, Moreto, Alicante Bouschet, Tinta Caiada, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Cabernet Sauvignon, with the remaining for the following white grape varieties: Roupeiro, Fernao Pires, Arinto and Rabo de Ovelha.The weather of this region is Ibero-Mediterranean, in other words, a Mediterranean climate with a strong continental influence. It is characterized by strong and dry summers with high thermal amplitudes and sunlight close to 3.000 hours per year; the rainfall is concentrated in the winter and is between 550-600mm per year.
